Founded by the 85-year-old Allo Alaev, the multi-generational Alaev Family plays the percussion-driven Jewish music of Tajikistan and Bukhara with incredible energy and charisma.

Since emigrating from Tajikistan to Israel in 1991, the Alaev Family has achieved international fame and is a constant presence on Israeli radio, television and concert stages. The band has been a headliner at WOMAD, Paleo, Roskilde, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, TFF Rudolstadt, and countless other international World Music festivals, and they’ve worked with Tamir Muskrat (Balkan Beat Box) to create world beat hits.
